HOW TO: License Chowmain RTI Drivers

This is a licensed driver and requires you to purchase a license for its continued use. Licenses can be purchased from the Chowmain Software Website. All Chowmain drivers come with a complimentary 90-day trial period, so you can install and test immediately without needing to purchase a license. Once you do purchase a license it will be applied automatically, without the need to reload your project.

Downloading and installing the drivers

To Download and install Chowmain drivers:

  1. Visit: https://chowmain.software

  2. Search and locate your driver, and click into the details by clicking the picture or heading.

  3. Click Trail Download to download the files.

  4. Follow the installation instructions from the pervious step to install the driver.

Installation of the Chowmain Project Agent is required to license drivers

  1. Download Chowmain Project Agent From the Chowmain Project Agent Page

  2. Install Project Agent on your processor.

  3. Open the Driver Properties for Project Agent and enter the Project ID if you have it, if not proceed to the next step

The next section covers how to attach a license to a project on the Chowmain website, but if you have already completed this step then the last step is to add the project ID to the Project Agent.

To do that, open the Driver Properties of project agent and add the project id into the Project ID field.


LICENSING FAQ

What are the Requirements for Chowmain licencing?

  • Driver trials do not require Agent to be installed.

  • To activate licensed drivers, Chowmain Project Agent must be installed.

  • Internet is required during the license registration process.

  • If Internet is lost then the license will persist the last state.

  • If the Chowmain Project Agent is removed then licencing will be invalidated. Do not remove the Chowmain Project Agent once installed.

How do I know if the deployed driver is using Chowmain Licensing?

If the driver has a license field in the configuration then it is not using Chowmain licencing.

How does the trial period work?

All Chowmain drivers are free to use for 90 days. When the trial expires the driver will cease to function until you purchase a license and apply it to the project.

Where do I buy a License from?

  • Chowmain RTI Drivers are only available to RTI installers. Installers can sign up to a Chowmain account using: https://chowmain.software/signup. If you are a home owner you should contact your automation installer for support, purchase and installation of drivers

  • This driver is developed by Chowmainsoft and can be purchased from the Chowmain Software Website.

  • All licenses are site licenses. This means the one license can be used to unlock as many instances of the same driver in the same project.

Can I upgrade old versions of drivers from other marketplaces to Chowmain?

  • This process is mostly automated.

    1. Install Chowmain Project Agent, and assign a Project Agent as required

    2. Ensure all drivers are up to date, and replace obsolete drivers with updated builds.

    3. Wait approximately 10 mins.
