Control4 ELK M1: Zone status does not correctly respond properly or Realtime status is not correct

  1. Ensure you are using the latest version of our ELK M1 V2 driver. You can identify this by right clicking on the device in System Design on Composer, and pressing Get Info. The filename must say chowmain_elk_m1_v2.c4z.
  2. If the original filename of the V2 driver has been changed incorrectly to not say chowmain_elk_m1_v2.c4z, updates will not be possible. You must remove the device and the programming from the project and re-add with the correct filename
  3. In Actions, run Display Diagnostics and check the lua tab for assistance
  4.  Ensure you are running firmware 5.3.30 or later
  5. Due to a limitation in the ELK M1 and Control4 API's, Zones which are bypassed will not reflect the correct status, and depending on configuration, will say permanently violated, or permanently normal. Ensure all zones are unbypassed
  6. In ELKRP > In the panel account > Globals > G29-G42 (Special) > Ensure all Serial Port 0 Transmit Options are ticked. These are used by network too, and if they are not ticked, control feedback will not function correctly. This is most common in panels which were set up a long time ago
  7. If using Serial, ensure that the cable is working correctly, and force a reconnection. Disconnecting the serial cable temporarily in some circumstances may affect feedback, as Control4 is unable to identify that the cable may have been temporarily unplugged
