Control4 Unifi: iPads / iPhone / IOS Crashes when viewing Protect Cameras
The most common cause of IOS crashes is by third party cameras connected to the Protect system. Improved Stream Compatibility mode may be required to resolve the issue. As of 2025, this can be found in the Unifi Protect Web Administration Interface: Cameras > The Third Party Device > Settings > Set Stream Compatibility Mode to Improved.
If this does not resolve the issue:
- Ensure that you are using the latest Chowmain UniFi Version. 20251106 and later versions have major changes which are required for the correct operation of drivers
- Ensure you have pressed Refresh Navigators in Composer Pro
- Test In Android to determine if the issue is isolated to IOS only
- Enable Navigator visibility for one camera at a time, to help isolate the camera which is causing trouble
- Run the Display Related Diagnostics from one of the UniFi drivers and ensure that all issues are resolved.
