Control4 Unifi Protect: Quick Setup Guide
The UniFi Protect driver provides a custom interface for managing UniFi Protect Recordings, cameras, sensors, and viewports. Intercoms are also set up via UniFi Protect. PLEASE NOTE: THE UNIFI PROTECT INTERFACE TO VIEW RECORDINGS IS EXPERIMENTAL AND MAY NOT WORK ON ALL UNIFI PROTECT SYSTEMS. HD RECORDING RESOLUTION ONLY IS RECOMMENDED
- Install all of the drivers
- It is recommended to use Drivers => Add Or Update Driver or Agent to install the drivers
- Use Ctrl+A or use the mouse to install and update all C4z drivers in the Zip from the chowmain website simultaneously. Do not simply copy files into the drivers folder, as this will not copy the drivers correctly to controller (and Auto Setup may fail in some circumstances)
- Add the UniFi Protect Driver to Composer Pro
- If you have already setup the login details into a Unifi network controller driver, you can use the "Copy Login Details From Network Controller Driver" action to copy the details to the Protect Controller driver.
- Alternatively, if you have not set up the login details previously, you will need to:
- Set the Server Address (IP Address of the UniFi Protect NVR / Controller)
- Set the Server Port (default is 443)
- Set the API Key (as per the authentication section above)
- Set the Username and Password (as per the authentication section above)
- If required, set the PIN number and enable features of the Protect Custom inteface. By default, downloading of recordings is disabled and can be enabled under properties
- To Set up all cameras quickly, use the Auto Setup action in the UniFi Protect driver. This will automatically discover all UniFi Protect Cameras and add them to the project
- Enable visibility of the devices in rooms as required under the room navigator tab.
- It is recommended for cameras to use standard encoding instead of enhanced recording. To set this, use UniFi Protect > Devices > Recording Settings and change the encoding to Standard. It is also recommended to enable HD recording for best compatibility
- To add Package Camera display, add the camera driver to the project manually, create the bindings, select the device, and change the Primary Video Stream to Package
