C4 TP-Link: Energy Monitoring on KLAP / Tapo Devices

Requirements

  1. TPLink Driver Version 20260422 or later
  2. Devices must support Energy Management
  3. This guide is only for Tapo devices (or KASA devices utilising KLAP)

Other Info

  1. Energy usage info is polled, and is dependent on the set poll rate in the "Real-time Poll Energy Rate (ms)" Property

Accessing The Energy Information

  1. The ENERGY_<DEVICEID>_CURRENT_POWER variable can be used in the KLAP Device driver for direct access to the current wattage. This can be combined with our Graph It driver to provide customers with a graph showing current power information
  2. Minimum / Maximum thresholds can be set in properties when the Energy Poll Property is enabled. We offer Events in the KLAP Device Driver for all supported ports, which provides information when those thresholds are exceeded
