Control4 Philips Hue: Auto Discovery Shows Too Many Requests

Symptoms

Auto Discovery Status Property shows "Too Many Discovery Attempts - Wait 15 mins"

Solution

1. As of January 2026, Hue discovery is limited to 1 discovery request per 15 minutes. If you receive this error please wait 15 minutes before trying again (you can use the Auto Discover Bridge Action or wait 30 minutes for the next attempt)
   
2. If you continuously receive this error, please ensure that no other Hue drivers or systems on the network which are attempting Hue discovery requests.
   
3. If your ISP is using CG-Nat / Shared Public IP for internet, other users which are sharing the same public IP may cause this error. In this case, please use manual IP configuration for the Hue Bridge (and a reserved address), or request a public IP address from your ISP.
