Control4 Philips Hue: Select Device From List / Auto Discovery detects bridges which do not exist
Symptom
The Select Device From List Property List / Auto Discovery Shows bridges which are on other subnets networks, or which do not exist on the current network
Solution
- If your ISP is using CG-Nat (Shared Public IP) for internet, you may be sharing a public IP address with other users which may cause this issue. In this case, please use manual IP configuration for the Hue Bridge (and a reserved address), or request a public IP address from your ISP.
- Ensure that Network Site-To-Site VPN is not being used to bridge other networks together
- This problem can generally be ignored. However, shared public IP's may affect the reliability of the discovery process
