Control4 Shelly - Setting Up Shelly BLU / BTHome Devices

Requirements

  1. Chowmain Shelly Driver 20260407
  2. Control4 OS 3.4.0 or later
  3. BTHome Compatible Gateway. This includes Gen3+ Devices, BLU Gateway (Gen 3 or later)  or Shelly Pro (Gen 2 or Later). 
Alert
Shelly Gateway BLU Gen 1 is NOT supported as a supported BTHome gateway. Gen 3 or Later is supported

Setup

- Shelly BLU devices are implemented in Control4 using BTHome. BLE is not supported directly
- Ensure all Shelly Network devices used as BTHome Gateways are setup and working correctly in Control4
- Follow BTHome Setup instructions from Shelly:
- For greater redundancy, it is recommended to add the BTHome device to multiple Shelly BTHome Gateway Devices. This can also be used for determining basic device location within the home using the CLOSEST_GATEWAY_ID variables (available in driver version 20260408 or later) 
- It recommended to update the firmware using Shelly's BLE Debug App before attempting integration:
- Add the new BTHome Agent to Control4, and Auto Setup devices (in the Agents Tab). The available BTHome devices should show as available: 
 
- For more advanced control capabilities, BTHome devices will add SHELLY_COMPONENT connections and other bindings which can be bound to the Shelly Component Controller driver or other drivers for more advanced control/integration.
