CONTROL4 UNIFI: Setting up Local Account / Login for Authentication
It is strongly recommended to set up a local login for UniFi Control. Whilst the UniFi API Key cannot be shared between Access and Protect/Network, the UniFi Login can. We use a combination of both login and API key to provide the best combination of features, and official API utilisation.
To set up a login
- 1. Log in to the UniFi Controller using the local IP (do not use the cloud login)
- Navigate to Admins and Users
- Create a new user with any name (we recommend control4). The following settings should be selected
- Enable Admin
- Restrict to local access only and set a unique username / password
- Record the Username and password which has been created. This will be required by the driver
