Control4 Govee: Device / Light Compatibility
LAN Support:
Please note, only lights are supported by LAN
The LAN Protocol has the following advantages:
Lower latency
Better reliability
Better light support
No quotas
The official protocol itself is limited to the basics. Whilst there are ways to support more features than the feature defines officially, without official documentation, they would be extremely risky to implement (particularly as they tend to be per-device)
Cloud Support:
Govee Cloud provides a larger range of device support than LAN, and more capabilities. However, there is higher latency and it is recommended when using cloud to only control the lights via Control4, as feedback is polled (on a large lighting system, polling slows down further due to quota limits). More information on devices is available at:
https://developer.govee.com/docs/support-product-model
Please note that whilst the driver should be able to connect to all devices on this list, including non-lights, the experience may be limited to basic command support, and it is only recommended to use this driver for lights unless explicit testing has taken place. Some lights may use a different protocol we don't support and it is recommended to test lights before deployment. As cloud is a polled solution, feedback may be delayed, and devices such as Govee motion sensors cannot be used as the response time is too slow
