Control4 TP-Link: Driver Not working in Control X4 or Later

Control4 TP-Link: Driver Not working in Control X4 or Later

After Upgrading to Control4 X4 or later, TPLink KASA / TAPO / V2 Stops working and may display errors during driver start

Solution

Warning
The original TPLink V1 drivers must be deleted from the project and upgraded to V2 / KLAP to support X4. A licence migration is required to upgrade the licence

  1. Due to the architecture of the original TPLink V1 drivers, they cannot be upgraded to X4. They must be removed from the project and replaced with our new V2 drivers
  2. It is strongly recommended that the TPLink Agent is installed and bound to drivers (under the agents tab)
  3. Control4 X4 and later requires TPLink driver version 20250721 or later to operate correctly in X4. Please note, a manual update may be required if the driver is older than 20240805 and a licence migration may be required
  4. In some circumstances, a controller reboot may be required after updating
  5. Ensure that the trial is not expired
